Talking Weeds...

Sep 13, 2012 15:48

Since it started raining again, I've had a strange weed appear in one of my flowerbeds. When it produced its first bloom, I knew I had a weed I'd never seen before now. (A very strange event for me!)
The bloom looked a lot like a white morning glory flower with a purple throat but it was on an upright plant. Finally a Latin name floated up out of my subconscious: Datura?
I looked it up on Google Images and sure enough that was it. The comon name for it is Jimson Weed. It's extremely toxic and needs to be dug up by the roots and disposed of carefully. Nobody on two legs or four needs to touch it much less eat it.

Has anyone else seen this weed this year?
