some gardening advice please:)
Hello!
I am brand new to livejournal. Brand new to this community and brand new to gardening.
My mother is an avid gardener and I have grown up helping her plant and grow for years.
I have moved out of my mothers house in the mountains to a house by the beach. The beautiful rich soil that I have grown accustomed to is now sandy and loose. So instead of planting directly in the soil around my house I was thinking of planting in pots and boxes. I am looking for any suggestions as to pot sizes for different veggies and what plants should be kept around one another for optimal growth? Also any flowers I can plant next to my veggies that will help them grow and keep bugs away? What veggies grow well in pots? I was thinking different varieties of tomatoes, peppers, and leafy veggies. I would like to grow a couple more types of veg, but I cannot come up with anymore ideas. Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated:)
