Hi, everyone. I have a question:
As some may remember, last fall had my concrete redone in my front yard, which meant some big changes to my front yard.
I had/have mostly spring bulbs in one square section of it, and then I had some bulbs in my basement all winter that I hurriedly planted after first sign of frost was over which I planted in a row along the new concrete (which, frankly, looked silly. I have to somehow get out of the "row" mentality when planting and into the "clump" mentality.).
So right now I have daffodils, tulips, hyacinth, muscari, crocuses and probably something else I'm forgetting that have already shed their blooms. The foliage from most of them except the daffodils are pretty much dead at this point (yellow)... is it safe to dig up the bulbs for transplant? Especially of the daffodils, whose foliage is still green, upright, and strong?
Because I want to re-seed much of that section of front yard with grass and then more THOUGHTFULLY plant these bulbs somewhere, and in some kind of arrangement. Thoughts...?
Btw, I'm USDA zone 7, and the temps recently have gone into the 90s... which is bad for someone like me who came late to gardening this season and is still raising seedlings!
