The Bucket Lily
I got to thinking about the lily in the bucket and then remembered that in the bag of bulbs I bought last year, there was half a lily bulb.
I decided to container plant the half a bulb to see what it would do. Well, it grew..but it only grew stem and leaves -no flower.
Looking at the bucket lily, I am beginning to think that the half bulb was buried in there somewhere. It had the growth spurt, but I see no beginnings of a flower anywhere.
I let the one in the summer of last year just grow until the end of season...but nothing came of it.
Should I wait and hope? Is there anything I can do?
