Hi All!
I have two glorious hardy hibiscus plants; I think they're both Lord Baltimores. We live in central Connecticut (zone 6) and bought a new house in town. We will be moving in mid-December. I love these plants so much that I specifically wrote in my sales contract that they are not included in the sale of our house.
After trimming the stalks, I dug up the root balls (easily 50 lbs. each!) and have them wrapped in paper leaf bags and landscaping material.
Here's my dilemma: how do I store them for the winter? Is it best to keep them indoors in the basement, or in a non-climate controlled place like a shed? I'm assuming I can plant them in the spring after the last frost?
I left them outdoors last night, only to find sleet and snow in the morning, so I brought them inside at 5:30 this morning :-P
Thanks!
