I have a very narrow, long, hell strip in front of my house. See my nifty arrow below.
I would like to pretty this up a bit but have no idea what might work. I'm not sure if some kind of mulch/cover/rock would work there or what kind of plants. I've seen gorgeous photos of people who have landscaped theirs but my strip is only about 12-14" wide. I wanted to plant short bamboo to create a bit of a buffer between the house & the street but I don't want running bamboo that escapes nor a clumping bamboo that may end up being really unhappy there & breaking through the concrete sidewalks.
I live on a street in between an elementary school & a boys & girls club so the area gets a lot of foot traffic. Any ideas? TIA very much!
I'm in North Carolina BTW, zone 7. It's mostly sunny there with a bit of afternoon shade.
