I have a few questions I'm hoping the wisdom of this community can help me with.
Problem 1: Why is my tomato plant sad? And is there anything I can do to help it? I'm guessing it's heat stressed, but I don't have enough experience to know for sure. It's been getting slowly worse and the areas that look thin are from where I pruned back the dead stuff a few weeks ago, only to end up with more dead stuff. The lows have never gotten below 75 in the past few weeks and the heat index is +100 every day.
Problem 2: What on earth is happening to my watermelon leaves? And should I pick my melons sooner or wait? The stems are still very green so I'm hesitant. This problem, unlike the tomatoes, happened rather quickly.
Issue 3 (not really a problem): I am going to take the stuff out of this bed (something coliapy? I'm sure I'm butchering the spelling) and plant it along the two other sides of the patio (by the fence and house) that are currently taken over by grass. Then I'm going to plant a bunch of daylily bulbs. Any suggestions on what to interplant with the bulbs? Even general types of plants will help - most of my plant knowledge is in herbs and vegetables.
