So far, I like this company.
I ordered seeds in the beginning of January. I noticed shipping was a LITTLE high, but nothing astronomical since I was ordering about $70 worth of seeds. I placed my order online, and got the initial email recognizing my order. A day or so later, I got another email saying my order was processing.
So I waited, patiently. I figured it might take a few weeks since I know a lot of companies get slammed with seed orders very early.
After almost a month, I shot them an email, just asking for an update. I had a small feeling of dread that this year would be as bad as last year's experience with Park (yes, I know, company got bought out, etc. This doesn't negate my horrid experience with them). I sent out that email Sunday evening. Monday morning, 9am, I got a phone call from Landreth. Turns out they were waiting on an item that they had just found out they weren't getting (Country Gentlemen corn, if anyone's wondering), and I was offered a substitution. We agreed on the substituted item, and my order was promised to be shipped out by the end of the week.
My order arrived on Wednesday, and I understand why the packaging was a hair on the spendy side - they ship their seeds in flat rate shipping boxes with bubble wrap, rather than in plastic bags (which has resulted in seed damage before). I inspected a couple packets of seeds, and I see no visible damage to the seeds.
All in all, so far I'm pleased. I know that quite a few individuals here feel they're not a good company to work with but their service is positive/what I hoped for, their packaging is great, and their selection is pretty good. They're also under 50 miles from me, which is something I was shooting for (another company I dealt with is located 7 miles from my home). Hopefully I'll get decent germination rates from those seeds...and if I do, I'll make sure to show photos.
