Gardening in Seattle...

Hello,
I just, literally this weekend, found out I have access to space for a vegetable garden. There are several areas to the yard and space I'll be using, so there are a variety of different sun levels.

For the most part, I'm a fairly competent gardner, but my question is, what veggies or herbs will grow best in an area that gets total sun exposure from morning until about 2:00 or 2:30 pm? I don't want to make the mistake of planting items there that aren't going to grow. But it's an amazing space (two tiered in the back of the house) so I don't want it to go to waste.

Tomatoes are going along the side of the house, full all-day sun exposure.

Ideally, I'd like beets, lettuces, herbs (basil, thyme, oregano, rosemary), squash (all varieties), chard, kale, artichoke?, cabbage?, taters?, maybe try cauliflower?

Anyway, I'd like to know if anyone has recommendations for plants that will be shaded for the last half of the day, but get full sun in the morning and early afternoon.

I'm in Seattle, looks like we're going to have a good summer, and will most likely be growing from seeds (except tomatoes and herbs). I believe Seattle is a zone 8, but as I said, some of my spots are all day sun, some are done with sun around 2:00 pm.
