i'm pretty good at keeping secrets for the most part... but if there is something that i just cannot keep i find someone completely unrelated to the issue who doesn't even know anyone involved in it and i tell them everything. it really really helps! but i should mention, i get permission to tell that completely unrelated person, first.

how old are you?

i know i promised this like two weeks ago, but i have been CRAZY busy. so here are some names of books that i am using for my paper on (sexual) (mis)representation of women in the media. i hope it helps, even if i am late.

Nancy Bonvillain: women and men
bell hooks: black looks (great book)
Linda williams: hardcore
yvonne tasker: working girls
collette beaucjamp: le silence des medias (in french)
vivianne namaste (she's a prof at our WS institute): c'etait du spectacle! (about transsexuals in quebec)
rodger streitmatter: sex sells! (v. helpful book)
andrea weiss: vampires and violence
and another book whose author i don't know, i think it's a government publication, called: sex role stereotyping: mediawatch.
