the reasons why i did not choose the other ones was because they did not sit right for me. i felt that they were too awkward or posed perhaps? you were talking about the mirror being a central them to your series. so perhaps push the idea of the presence of the mirror in your photos. what does a mirror signify in your photos? reflection? how can reflection be shown through your photos? conceptually, this is what i do/what my drawing teacher has tried to push me on how i think about series.

the strongest for me are 5 +7 because there is the presence of the mirror in them but the relationship between you and the mirror is not in a tradition sense of mirror and a person looking into for their reflection. there is a sense of movement in the two photos, number five with the blur of your body and number seven with your body moving and you are actually carrying/moving the mirror.
those are just some thoughts. good idea about taking yourself seriously! i'm trying to do that with job hunting because i never take myself seriously and i always compare myself to other people. but we all know that that is not the way to do things. i took a little break about submitting my art to things (well like magazines and stuff) but i think i'm going to get more serious than that because i think it's important to go through the motions and do not have a feeling of defeat even before applying to the contest or submission callout.
