My frustration at not having internet at home reached new heights last night, plus we took the text messaging package off my phone that I had gotten used to having, which I didn't realize would make my phone completely incapable of receiving or sending them. That has already caused confusion and miscommunications.
So last night we went to the library to use the internet to download a FAFSA worksheet .pdf to our laptop, but something was wrong with Adobe Reader and every time I tried to open it, it crashed Firefox. I wasted probably half an hour on that, plus another 20 or so minutes that I couldn't use the internet for other things I wanted to take care of, like checking on admissions stuff for GRCC. Then we had to leave because 1. our free parking was about to run out and 2. the library was closing in 10 minutes. And Josh had to get ready for work which meant he'd be taking the car soon. I was pretty mad. Then I had a (slightly less) frustrating morning which included waking up at 4 am for no apparent reason after having a lot of trouble falling asleep. I didn't think I'd care that much about having less technology in my life, as I always considered it more of a nuisance than an aid, but it seems like more and more things require its use, including keeping up to speed with friends and family who are increasingly mobile. We are in fine shape financially right now, but we're in no position to add expenses to our budget, as Josh has had to take a 10% pay cut and could still be laid off at some point, plus my job ends this summer. So I'm just going to have to deal with it for now - but it's surprisingly frustrating for something that I used to consider trivial.
