I've just returned from seeing one of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' two comeback shows at Bowery, and I gota say--I'm a tad disappointed. Or OK, more than a tad. A dollop? Anyway, though I wasn't expecting them to play older songs and pull out all the stops, most of the new material just doesn't have the energy live to merit them dismissing most of their ( Read more... )

Ummm I wish we got the NME Awards here. Thank God for YouTube.

Also, I agree that "Y-Control" is their best song. I was near a dude who was not only old, but smashed to the point that he kept yelling, "I LOVE YOU MAMA" as if he totally had a chance with Karen O.

The sad thing about the new material is that it probably sounded way better in a live setting. Can't see myself having a lot of fun listening to the album. Definitely disappointing! I think even Karen's mother could tell.

I wish Bowie had been there! I went to a YYYs show and all I got was a James Iha sighting??

Everyone and their Mom was at that show, for real. I was surprised we didn't see Elijah Wood, and I wish that were a joke.

Yeah, the new album so far is not impressing me. They need to pull out all the stops in order to stay relevant... we don't need another Interpol/Strokes on our hands here.

I totally will! We can have Snack Dragon together. I was at HiFi with some friends, we went to get tacos once, then i had to go back like 15 minutes later because i wanted more. Best place EVER.

Ive heard the lp... was pretty disappointed :( gold lion seems the best track by far
