Lake of Tears anime-style

It's been a long time since my last post and hell a lot of things have happen in that time so after my long hiatus, here's another summary on the Deltora Quest anime.

Be much appreciated if someone can find a picture of anime Soldeen

If you haven't seen the anime or read the book, read on further at your own risk

Episode 5: After much argument with Jasmine, they eventually head to that ever famous riddle giant. Yes, that guy who ask riddles to anyone who wants to cross his bridge. At least two of the three questions have been slightly changed in the anime. Instead of it being 11-9, here it is 5-3 for some reason. Either the creators were superstitious bastards who like the number 5 better or it's a strange reflection of how fucked up things have become since '9/11. Moving on, Barda's riddle no involves mirror images which he solves by cutting the pieces in half and Lief's riddle remains the same except you can actually here how the riddle is sung (in a very fucked up way).' Continuing on after that, Lief, Barda and Jasmine meet a blue guy called Manus (I think that's his name) who has been captured and need their help to let him escape. After helping said-Ralad escape, they continue on to get themselves into quicksand where they learn the important lesson of never trusting weird looking old people especially if they say 'noos taem hserf'. But don't worry they get saved by Manus and the newly revealed powers of the Topaz. One thing of note is that Nij and Doj or should I say Jin and Jod seem to know how to fusion dance in the anime. But the 2 headed thing which I'll call Jojin still ends up dying

Episode 6: Nothing much to say about this episode. Most of it is just dedicated to walking through nice scenery as the three including Manus attempt to reach Raladin. Although one thing of note in their long not-so-perilous, boring as well as pleasant journey is that Jasmine decides to take a bath. Ah, Japs they just love their fanservice. Though it's pretty mild compared to that certain scene in Code Geass. And when they eventually get to Raladin, it turns out that it's hidden underground like the books. At the end of this, we see the our heroes head off to face Soldeen at the Lake of Tears.

Episode 7: More pwning from Soldeen at the Lake of Tears, honestly why do they bother? After a short break, Manus plays his song and in response our fishy friend (who's pretty much the same concept) makes a deal with them. Shortly thereafter, the Topaz once again saves the day by showing Soldeen his past life and as such he agrees to hand the Ruby over to them. Although the relatively smooth ride is cut short when Thaegan arrives. Who looks more human here then monstrous with that green dress and like Gorl she shows that she has the force. More pointless fighting ensures that consist of our heroes jumping at her pointlessly only to be thrown back. But thankfully Kree is there to save the day and bites off her ring. At this point all is restored to normal as the Lake of Tears turns into a green field, Soldeen becomes Nanion, the weeping statue becomes his wife and those worms become the people again and the Ralads have their voices back. Well that's nice as for those who read the book the Lake of tears was actually D'Or that was turned into that dreaded place due to Thaegan's jealousy. But one question...where the fuck is the town anyway.

And in the midst of this celebration, a rat takes Thaegan's ring to the glowing red eyes...Shadow Lord and Jaffa...I mean Fallow. Unlike the books, we can actually see how the Shadow Lord becomes aware of the gems being taken away and he takes his anger out on his minion. The episode ends with a finger popping out of the ring due to the Shadow Lord's magic hinting at a return from the witch (filler).
