New Things

So, since about the time I got my job at Round Table, I started looking for another one. It was a crappy job, that barely paid all the bills. As a result, I was always looking for a different or 2nd part time job. Now, it wasn't all that bad. The environment was very relaxed, and my boss was extremely cool about most things.

However, about a month ago, I was cruising Craigslist and saw a job for working at a casino. I checked it out, and it didn't sound hard to do, you didn't need any special training, and it paid well with benefits. So I sent them a resume and thought nothing of it.

A few weeks later, I get a call asking me to come in for an interview. It was for the next day. Thankfully it was my day off, so I readily agreed to it.

I got there, barely on time, and was interviewed. I came out of that interview thinking I had done really well. I got a job offer the very next day. So, apparently I was right on doing well.

I told my boss within hours of finding out about getting the job. He was slightly upset, but only in that he'd have to find a new guy, which is a bit of a pain in the ass for him. And means he'll probably have to work a couple of shifts to cover the loss of manpower. Either way, I was thrilled at the prospect of my new job. I still wasn't sure what it was I was going to be doing, but the pay and benefits sounded great!

Fast forward two weeks.

I get to my first day of training. I met a few interesting people there, and basically find out what it is I'm going to be doing at my new job. At first, I thought it was going to be some sort of fancy cashier job. Apparently, it's a lot different then that. It's more like gambling by proxy. Anyways, after several days of training, I have a great grasp of my new job, and I'm looking forward to trying it out.
