You may remember that the BBC Store had their massive closing down sale last week and closed for good on Tuesday. I got an email from them this morning announcing their new innovation: BBC Store Video.
The ridiculous thing was that I didn't even notice. The email had BBC Store Video in large letters at the top and I just glanced at it, went 'okay', and deleted it. It didn't occur to me that Video meant VHS. I just thought Video was like a digital video. I only found out it was an April Fool's joke when they sent a follow up email just after 12 asking if they'd got me. Um... nope! I had to go back and watch the video!
Hee! I'd likely have done the same, deleted it assuming they were just pusing their digital content. Hmm, wonder how many people *did* do jsut that and it fell a bit flat so they had to poke everyone to actually watch it? :)
I watched the video on YouTube just after dinner and it had just over 18,000 views. It's kind of hard to say off that how well it had done, it sounds a lot but I'd expect something linked to a BBC mass-mail to have a much larger audience.
