Liverpool

I had hoped to have a few days out and about this week, however it's not worked out like that at all. On Monday it was cold and wet and blowing a gale so I stayed in. On Tuesday, it was cold and wet and windy again so rather than staying in, I went off to the Record Office and did some genealogy research. Thankfully yesterday was much nicer ( Read more... )

Feh to nasty weather. It's been raining here for several days now and we actually had some impressive fog last night, at least for round here as we don't get fog very much. It wasn't unsafe to drive in but looked nice muting all the landscape around me when I drove home from work. Yay for genealogy research though; did you find anything helpful?

I am slightly agape at and terribly impressed by your restraint. Those Doctor Who costume T-shirts look so fun but yeah, too pricey really which is a shame. I've never used the Navigation feature but I'm glad it works so well! That sure beats shelling out for a separate sat nav. I wonder if you can download voices for it like you can for some sat navs. That could be fun.

Yay for having a nice visit with Blue and more yay for extra books! What's the one you're bringing with you that sounds so good? But feh to lack of sleep and headaches and nausea. You poor poor boy; that sounds like such a horrible end to an otherwise lovely day. I'm glad you got safely home at least and were able to crash for the rest of the night. Are you still feeling ill or just tired?

Maybe you're too far from the Charles to get much fog. It does tend to congregate around water like rivers.

I got to look at my grandparents entry in the marriage registry which was really amazing although pretty emotional. I also got lots of census information which I need to look over properly. And! I also found the details of burial for my great-grandparents on my mother's father's side. You know, the awkward side I've not been able to find anything on at all. I'll have to go and find the grave site and see if it has a gravestone with more information on for me.

I tried the Navigation thing quite a while ago but it just said it didn't have data for my area. I think it was about this time last year, so they've obviously extended to cover the UK now as well as the US.

The book I'm taking on holiday with me is the Spellwright one. I'm really impatient to start it. I'm feeling okay now, I didn't feel too bad yesterday either, just tired.

*nods* True, that might be it. The Charles isn't really that far from me at all but maybe it's far enough to deny me fog.

That's brilliant that you found their entry in the marriage registry. It does seem like it would be emotional though. Yay for getting all that census info too, but omgYAY for finding the burial details! That's so wonderful. I hope the grave gives you some leads.

Yay also for Navigation extending its coverage! About time too. Most fortuitous that it was in time for your holiday.

I'm v glad you're feeling better now. Spellwright looks quite interesting so I've requested it at the liberry. :)
