Revenge of the Brolly

Has anyone else come across or is familiar with Hanjie - Japanese picture puzzles? I was in Smiths this morning looking for a puzzle book to take on my forthcoming trip and I found a couple of Hanjie books. They look quite interesting and certainly different to general puzzle books. Kind of pricey though, they were nearly £3 and there's only 50 pages in the book. I got one anyway because I was so intrigued by them so I hope it lives up to my expectation.

I have to apologise for my slow and awkward typing at the moment but I am injured. My brolly attacked me. See, it was overcast when I left the house but started pissing it down once I got to the park and ride and I'd gone out without a brolly. Luckily I keep a spare one in my car so I took that. Now I've never used this brolly before; I actually found it brand-new at Government Centre T station about two years ago! I think someone had put it down for a moment and forgotten to pick it back up. Maybe the brolly was having its revenge for either picking it up in the first place or for being stuck in my car for the past 2 years, I don't know. Suffice to say that the first time I went to close it, something stabbed me in the pad of my index finger. It was bleeding quite a lot and initially looked a lot worse because of that. I had a clean hanky in my pocket so I wrapped that tightly round to stop the bleeding. I was going into a shop selling toiletries so I bought a small box of plasters which I can now add to my extensive plaster collection. It was still quite painful as well as throbbing although it's eased off a bit now I've been able to dress it properly. It looks like a small puncture wound rather than a cut but I don't think it's anything major. Despite how much it's hurting!

I've had a look at the brolly to see if there's any rough bits which there aren't. All I can find is a twist of thickish wire that's about a third of the way round from the release button. It seems to be the most likely culprit though I can't quite work out how. The most annoying thing is that it makes it difficult to grip a pen so my new puzzle book might have to wait a day or two!

i don't think i have a tag for this
