Seasons Greetings

I don't believe it but I've just seen my first Christmas-themed advert on TV. It was for Disneyland Paris of all things too. Eugh. It's far too early. Go away. Seriously. As if it's not bad enough that there have been a couple of mentions at work about Christmas over the past fortnight or so. There was a discussion over the purchasing of a ( Read more... )

I suppose Zara has a point there, that does make sense, but do Australians need reminding so early??

Aw, do you normally fast?

Aw. I don't think of it as being bad, just as being very relaxed about it.

christmas is too much about want want want now anyways i feel its all just about shops trying to get money off people i dont like it i dread it because of all the money i need to find out of no where for gifts for people who are not even greatful half the time. For me i would be happy just to have all the family together no gifts just family all together in one place.

And well cool you done the fast and now you can have good food time :)

Christmas seems to have been getting more materialistic lately, probably as society has got more materialistic. One of the things I hate most about Christmas is the assumption that everyone celebrates it. One of the idiots at work actually said that during the discussion about purchasing a tree. Grrrr.

I have to admit, I've already started thinking about Christmas shopping, but only because I want to spread out the purchases over the next couple of months.

I would have Philadelphia AND scrambled eggs, but that's just me :o) I've been craving bagels this week, I think I'd best buy some when we do the shopping tonight!

Thinking about shopping is different from having the adverts telling you that you should be doing it already. One of the ways you can tell it's getting closer to that time of year is the increase in perfume adverts of all things.

I had Philadelphia and some leftover tuna pate. It was very nice but I think scrambled eggs might have been more filling. Bagels are so yummy, I like the sesame ones best.

Well I did a bit of Christmas shopping the other month and that was because I saw something that I thought would be perfect for a friend, so I got it then so I didn't forget. And at work the Christmas meal was mentioned last month and a menu and sheet of paper to write our names on if we are going has since appeared on the notice board.

I think it's up so early because we have to book a table for *mumbles something that sounds like 'a hundred people'* and we are going for a meal in a week as a leaving do for a three members of staff so I think that staff meals were on our mind. I don't think we were this organised last year which is why they ended up at a pizza place.

I saw something at work about a Christmas meal - there was a sheet of paper for signing up in the printer area but it was gone the next day. That was during my first week there too.

You don't have a hundred people at work! Are you inviting random strangers too? Or is it 50 staff plus SOs? I don't think it matters where you go as long as the food is good and the company better.

Well I know we don't have a hundred :) but at the moment we have fourteen staff (two of who started this week) and then there are the three who have left and the possiable eight SOs who will be going ... so if all go that will be twenty five.

Last year they went to Pizza Express. Whenever we have to stop late for stock take or training we get ... pizza so pizza for the Christmas meal ... *whooop*
