eBay is evil

After Wellington arrived in less than optimal packaging, I deliberated for a while over what to do with regards to feedback. In the end, I decided to contact weblmb, the seller first and see what ze had to say. I sent them a message through eBay (which annoyingly has now been deleted due to eBay's stupid system and I forgot to get it copied through to my e-mail) but basically it explained that although Wellington had arrived safe and sound, the packaging had been badly ripped due to being inadequate material and that perhaps in future using something better than a bin liner would be advisable. I didn't get any response so after about a week, I gave up waiting and left feedback. I didn't really want to leave negative feedback because I don't like doing that but without any contact from weblmb, there wasn't a great deal else I could do. I left neutral feedback instead and put "Item packaged in binliner so ripped badly. No response from seller after 5 days." It wasn't easy with the limited amount of characters they give you!

As eBay don't give you any notification that you've had feedback left - which I think they should - I forgot about checking to see what the seller had left for me. When I left mine, I'd not had anything. I only noticed that I'd finally got feedback the other day when I was checking up on my recent purchase of a pair of Converse. weblmb left my feedback on August 15th, nearly a month after I'd won the auction. To my horror, although giving me positive feedback - eBay have changed their system so sellers can't leave anything other than positive feedback - ze'd put "blames us for royalmail mistakes leaves neg feedback without contacting us AVOID". I couldn't believe it! I had a look to see if ze'd left any response to the feedback I'd left and found that ze'd put "clearly this is down to the post office so why do we get the bad feedback" So the Royal Mail are at fault because you used a bin liner as packaging material despite the fact that that's not what it's actually for?! How exactly are they to blame for that? And I mentioned in my feedback that I did contact you but you didn't bother responding. I was really pissed off that they turned it round on me and made it sound like I was the one in the wrong. Although, I did noticed that another buyer had left feedback a few days after me; again, it was neutral and said "packaging damaged, confusing communication, item in good condition though!" And what was weblmb's response to that? Ze left the other buyer feedback that said "blames us for royalmail mistakes leaves neg feedback without contacting us AVOID". Something tells me it's not the first time weblmb has used that excuse, that's why it's so easy to copy and paste it in every time.

ebay - it's made of evil
