Wheels rolled against the asphalt at a leisurely pace, slowly gaining speed as a foot kicked harder against the ground. In one quick motion, the skater moved his foot towards the tail of the board and pushed his weight against it. The board left the floor for a few seconds as the boy slid his other foot upward against the board. He then landed with both feet firmly against the skateboard, somehow managing to keep himself rolling steadily along.

There was a small cheer not too far away as Beat turned his head to look towards the source. It had come from Ty Lee who sat a short distance away on one of the park benches. The boy grinned at her, whizzing past before readying himself for another trick.

He brought down his speed and bent down low, getting off his board and onto ground. Reaching forward, he planted one hand against the pavement to shift his weight downward. His other hand took hold of the board on the ground, bringing up to his feet up in the air. It took some effort but he held himself in that handstand for a few seconds before turning to land back on his board.

"Oh goodness. Beat, that was amazing!"

The boy couldn't help but smile as he made his way towards the bench, seating himself beside the girl as soon as he was close enough. "It's nothin', yo. It's kinda like what you do only with a board."

"Still! I don't think I can do something like that."

"Sure you can. C'mon, your turn."

Ty Lee let out a giggle and got on her feet. She first performed a few cartwheels, finishing off with a flip up against the empty side of the bench and onto the back rest. Beat craned his head backwards to keep his eyes on her.

She then balanced on one hand, alternating with her left then her right every few seconds. Slowly, Ty Lee curled up her fingers one by one, until all that was left to support her weight was her pointer. Beat continued watching as she held the position even longer than he had done earlier on his board.

That was when she started wobbling. Beat stood from the bench, suddenly alert and ready to catch her. Ty Lee however, managed to shift her weight forward enough to land back onto the bench in a seated position. Another giggle escaped her lips.

Beat let out a sigh, plopping himself back onto the bench. "Geez, Flips. Don't make me freak out like that, yo."

The gymnast could barely contain her laughter. "I'm all right, Beat. I make mistakes like that every once in a while. Must be because I'm out of practice."

A snort. "Still thought you was gonna fall, you know."

"I'm sorry. But I'm glad that you're worried about my safety. It makes my aura all the more pinker!"

Beat turned to look back at Ty Lee and a small smile formed on his lips. "Hey, Flips." Just as soon as she turned to face him, Beat wrapped one arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer toward him. Leaning forward, he captured her mouth in his in a kiss. Ty Lee giggled slightly against the kiss but did not make any move to extract herself from it. And with that, the dream faded.

Beat didn't even try to hide the smile on his face as he awoke a few minutes later. Who cares if anyone else had seen that. It wasn't as if he was ashamed of it. Instead he curled his arms over his head, tucking his hands under his pillow, lying contentedly for just a little while longer.
