Last year on Halloween I went downtown and everybody was dressed up. Everybody.
It was shocking, I was invited out by some friends who insisted I dress up, and I thought I'd wind up with egg on my face. Everyone had been real silent about Halloween up until that night, so it was quite a shock.
It's a shame nobody does any Halloween TV specials anymore. October used to be such an awesome, scary month. Now it's just work through midterms, pray for December. It's really sad.
I just felt like adding that Emma went trick-or-treating last year at my parents' neighborhood in Augusta. She was 19 months old. She's going again this year, again at my parents' town....mostly because I know the area better and there are a ton of good houses (that I used to go to!). Her only Halloween that we didn't take her out was the first one, where we dressed her up anyway as the cheshire cat in cute pink and purple striped pjs. I couldn't justify taking out a 7 month old who couldn't walk, talk or even eat any of the candy she'd get.
