Karen (who was recently interviewed right here on Gametime,
part one and
part two) discusses how she as a non_Maori went about trying to do a good job of representing Maori culture in her upcoming debut novel, Guardian of the Dead. She covers a lot of the points that have gone through my mind thinking about the first game discussed in this short series, the Requiem game set at the dawn of colonial New Zealand. Although she's writing about prose fiction rather than a live game, much of what she says is directly applicable.
Highly recommended.
