I'm going to be doing a bit of friends-list trimming over the next few days/weeks.
Nothing severe, just a few here and there - mostly people whose journals I find myself not reading more often than not. I don't believe in massive purges.
I don't trim people who don't post - I trim people who, when they do post don't seem to resonate at all with me.
Since I don't tend to friend people with nothing to say, and because of the multiple layers of filters I use for damn near every post, it shouldn't make much of a difference.
I may also be making more public posts both to balance the trims and just in case someone new stumbles across me - Friends Only means I wind up initiating all the F-list growth. I don't know that I want to shoulder that burden.
Non-friend comments on Public posts will be screened. Friend comments will be unscreened unless otherwise specified (this post, for example, all comments are screened).
