Three pieces of good news:
The problem with my computer hinged upon a conflict with my old hard drive. No data from the main hard drive was damaged or lost, and all I lost was several gigs worth of unbackedup .avi files that are easily reacquired. It's annoying to have 70 GB less of HD capacity, of course, but I can always upgrade Skynet again later on if I find 320 GB to be too limiting in the future.
I received chia_rhino's old iPod in the mail yesterday! Now I will not be forced to rely upon the good graces of the radio anymore when I am driving in my car.
And finally, and best of all, I have received my first real music-related press coverage in a real newspaper. You can read it by going here. It doesn't mention my awesome band and gets the name of my album minorly wrong, but one can't complain about free publicity. This is so cool and I could not be happier. Here's hoping it leads to some CD sales!
