Okay, anybody who was not at the Stuart Davis show last night missed the hell out. The show was great, but the crowd sucked - how do you hear a song like "Rock Stars And Models" and stay seated and give us dirty looks when we start dancing, you jerks? Stu is always unbelievably entertaining and this was no exception. The set list was weird, but in a good way (good wyrd, haha) - tons of stuff from Bell, tons of stuff from Bright Apocalypse ("Seven Wonders Of The Soul", which is the only rock song I've ever heard about the chakras and which was stuck in my head for an entire weekend recently but which I never expected to hear, wtf?), nothing from Kid Mystic and practically nothing from earlier in his career. I would've really liked to hear some stuff from Kid Mystic, along with "Smoke" and "Nothing In Between", but oh well. It's not like we didn't hear good stuff anyway. And there was singing along and dancing on the stage and hugs from Stu, so all is well.

The opening act was also really good. We've been having good luck with that sort of stuff lately. His name was Justin Roth and he was a phenomenal guitarist and pretty decent songwriter. But I think I mostly just enjoyed it because he sang this one song called "Savior", which starts out:

I need to get my gun
Put all my faith in my truest one
Just one savior to guide one bullet
To make one last regret

And after that verse peloria looked back at me, and said very quietly, "This reminds me of Supernatural," at which point I laughed very loudly and inappropriately because I had been thinking the exact same thing. Good song though, even if it did give me a plot bunny, which needs to go away right now because if it hadn't noticed I don't write fanfic. (Okay, enough italics for now.)

Also, the new album is *sweet*. It's kind of electronica/dance influenced, which is a big departure from his earlier stuff, and very cool. The highlights so far for me are "Easter" and "Voodoo Dolls" (though I think I prefer the solo guitar version of "Voodoo Dolls" if I had to pick).

Okay, I should go wake up dayzdark and eat some lunch so we can leave soon.
