no rest for the wicked

Okay, really quick:

Yesterday my grandmother had a stroke. The doctors are not certain yet of the extent of the damage that was done, and I'm waiting to hear from my mom to know that for certain. In fact, nobody really knows anything, which is why, long story short, as inaccessible as I thought I was going to be this weekend, I am about to get a little more inaccessible. So here's where we stand.

Today I am leaving work early. dayzdark's parents are coming in at some unknown time. We *are* doing the Stuart Davis concert at the Varsity - his parents may be coming along, we're not sure. If you are going to the concert, meet at my house around 8:15. We will stay til it's done, which is probably very late.

Saturday we were supposed to go to Eau Claire, but that's up in the air now due to my mother not knowing if she will be needed in Marshfield. Still, I am planning on being out of town this day, just in case.

Sunday we are taking dayzdark's parents to church with us and to the lunch buffet at Chapati. Buffy *is* happening that night at the normal time - remember we are playing at chia_rhino's place. dayzdark will entertain his parents while I'm running the game.

Monday I am responsible for entertaining dayzdark's parents all day long because he has to work. I don't know what we'll do. Maybe go to the science museum, or see a movie. Whatever happens, I probably won't be available at all.

Tuesday is the 4th. dayzdark and I are both off. Apart from taking his parents to Rock Bottom and presumably seeing fireworks at some point, I don't know what we're doing on this day either, but suffice it to say that (surprise!) I won't be available. Hunter is cancelled.

Wednesday dayzdark's parents leave, I go back to work, and presumably we play Hunter that night provided that Alex is not a giant suck. Life returns mostly to normal.

So, the sum total of all this stuff is to say that things like hanging out, responding to comments, posting in LJ, doing a Buffy plot summary, and generally doing anything except being a host around here, is not going to happen. It's likely I'll have more computer/free time than I'm anticipating, but I'm planning for the worst, which is that I don't get a moment to myself until dayzdark's parents leave and the stuff that's happening with my own family resolves to the point where we have some answers.

I'm feeling pretty stressed right now and I really should be working, so I need to wrap this up and get back at it. I'll talk to all of you in a week or so, but I very much hope you will hear from me before that. But if not, have a good holiday weekend (those of you in the States) and take care of each other.

P.S. - The last two episodes of Supernatural were AMAZING (and not just because at one point peloria spontaneously turned to me and (referring to Sam and Dean of course) said, "God, they're so hot." I WATCH FOR THE PLOT, TEEHEE.). How are we going to wait until September? Bring on the second season yesterday, please!
