As much as she still found it difficult to believe she was going to the prom with Chuck, Blair still wanted to look good. Better than good, even. Because that would show Chuck.

Show him what Blair wasn't sure, but by God she'd show him.

So she got dressed and otherwise ready and waited for him to come pick her up.

Something seemed off about going to a dance without pre-gaming in a limo beforehand but Chuck figured that this way was probably for the best. A couple of drinks would have probably calmed his nerves but that would come with the consequence of Blair killing him if she found out he had been drinking.

So it was a completely sober and slightly nervous Chuck that knocked on Blair's door.

It was times like this that Blair really missed Dorota. Answering a door herself? How gauche.

Instead she waited a few beats before opening the door. She looked Chuck over and found she didn't disapprove of what he was wearing. "Chuck."

Chuck meant to answer with a 'Blair' but instead what came out was a, "Wow."

Look, she deserved that, okay?

He took a second to look her over, in no way leering as much as he wanted to. "You look beautiful."

Blair always liked being told how wonderful she was. Hearing it sincerely from Chuck was actually even better.

"More than any other girl on the island?" she replied with a smile.

"The other girls don't even come close," Chuck said. He knew she'd like to hear that and, hell, he might even think it's true. "We shouldn't have any trouble making everyone else jealous."

"I don't think we'll have any trouble at all." Blair reached out to smooth Chuck's lapel. Not that it necessarily needed it. "Not that kind of trouble, anyway."

"Are we looking to cause other sorts of trouble?" Chuck asked, looking down at her hands and smiling a little.

"It often seems to find us," Blair replied.

"It finds us, we start it, whichever," Chuck said with a shrug. "Fun either way."

"Shall we go have fun then?" Blair asked.

Chuck held out his arm for her to take and nodded towards the doorway. " Let's go."
