Too much to-do

It’s been a busy time. Too busy. I don’t feel run down, but I do feel frazzled, like I’m not focusing on the right things because there are too many things to do. I’m forgetting things that are important because there are too many of them. Too many balls in play. ‘Too’. My plans for the weekend initially included going to an herb fair 45 minutes away, spending several hours there, eating lunch, and coming back, but I’ve decided it’s too much time out of my day. I need to knock off some more of the ‘little’ tasks so they’re not out there nagging, taking up mental space.

My weekend:

Friday -

  • Wash the glasses/crystal and get the hard water stains off them.

  • Run a load of laundry. I'm now down to 3 pair of underwear due to an underwear fiasco going on. I bought a set of new ones and loved them, then threw out all my old ones and bought a bunch of new ones. But the newest bunch don't match the ones I loved, so I now have to take them back and only have a couple pair I can wear. :(

  • Check the bay cuttings for rooting. Read up on what the next step is after they’ve rooted, then do that.

  • Take my measurements again. Transfer them to the Food Log file.

Saturday -

  • Go to Tulsa. Sell eggs.

  • Go by my ex's house. Get the mower into the truck and bring it home for my dad to flush out the carburator. While I'm at the house, check the keys, if I can find them tonight.

  • Back home, I want to build the raised bed I’ve been thinking of putting in. I need to get some scrap lumber or buy some, then build the frame and get the damn thing out there so I can get plants started in it. It will need some dirt, but I’ll just deal. Maybe some layered cardboard will be enough.

  • Stake out the grape plants. Buy two more stakes. If cheap, buy six and return Dad’s stakes.

  • Have the kids do their chores. Make sure to add the china cabinet to Elizabeth’s glass and mirrors. Have Jacob mow the front lawn if the mower will start. (This is a different mower than the one at my ex's.)

  • Clean furniture. All the furniture I got from my ex’s was nasty dirty, even by my very lax standards. Everything needs a damp cloth taken to it, some scrubbing, and furniture polish. I cleaned the first floor stuff last weekend. I need to do the second floor stuff and then apply polish to everything.

  • Inventory glassware, gold-rimmed china, English china, dolls, toys, and silverware.

  • Take pictures of glassware, gold-rimmed china, English china, dolls, toys, and silverware. Upload photos. Post photos and inventory to forums and boards asking for interested parties - free to friends, best offer to strangers.

Sunday -

  • No D&D.

  • Inventory game books and magazines.

  • Fold, measure, label, and distribute sheets and blankets. This will clear out the utility room and let me see what I’ve got as far as linens go.

Other stuff that I’ll do if I have time:

  • See about getting more mulch. That would be a Sunday project and right now it looks like a big storm will blow in Sunday morning. So it's probably not something I'll do this weekend.

  • Get a few loads of chicken manure for gardening.

  • Make arrangements to have my ex’s front yard mowed if I can't get his mower fixed quickly.

  • Watch Heroes.

  • Burn stuff. This is only applicable if the wind is low. Right now, the weather says the wind's gonna be 20 mph or more all weekend, so this will probably be a carryover activity like with the mulch-getting.
