Chickens at 7 weeks!

I went out yesterday and took a few pics of the chickies. They're seven weeks old now and have lost all their chick fuzz. They're starting to look like small chickens rather than itty bitties.

Here's a picture of the yard they live in right now. The little kiddie house to the left is where they sleep at night. You can see a few of the bigger chickens hanging out with them.

Here's Mr. Blue, having grown up a bit more. You can see a tiny spur starting to grow on his right leg. He'll have them on both eventually, but for now, only the one has budded out.

Here's Mr. Blue with some friends. That's a White Austra and a Red Star next to him, with a pair of Auracanas in the back right. They're the ones with the beards under their chins. Apparently some of our Auracanas have beards and some have whiskers.

This is a trio of Red Star pullets. They are extraordinarily tame, letting me walk right up and pick them up. Or posing for the camera, as the case may be.

Here's one of the Welsummer stags. You can see how much darker his coloring is than the females, and how much bigger his comb is.
