Couldn't help but think of the song "Sweet Dreams are Made of These" - some of them want to use you, some of them want to get used by you. And that's kind of sad, especially from Sylar's point of view in this, but its very powerful.
And hot.

Meanie and I have puzzled endlessly over Sylar's rather odd behaviors regarding intimacy and violence in canon. A lot of these little fics are my attempt to "try on" a certain point of view. This one was largely inspired by a question/setting Meanie proposed to me, where she asked what Peter would do if Sylar grabbed him in the middle of a fight and kissed him. I wrote it as a scene - I have no idea where it is now, probably lost in my emails - and sent it back to her. I think she'd thought I'd answer something like, "He'd be shocked" or "He'd flip out" or "Peter would freeze up" - you know, something other than answering with a 500 word fic.

That's what I refer to here: It wasn't the first time he'd done it - and that first time Peter had fought him off, slapped him and belittled him. After a little while, I began to wonder what would happen if Sylar tried it again, because Peter didn't *entirely* shut the door on Sylar that first time. So I wrote this as the 'second time' story ( ... )

Was it really a question? I'm going to live up to my end of the 'acting like an old married couple' gig and say "This is how it REALLY went!" Just kidding ( ... )

Wait, wait! What's my role here? What's my motivation? Am I supposed to be arguing with you? Line!?!

Your recollection sounds better than mine. I remember the whole 'what would Peter do?' issue.

I like that video a lot. Marilyn Manson's scratchy, dark tone works so much better for Sylar. The original sounds too polished. Marilyn nails it.

And yes, I've written a lot of Petlar for you. You inspire me so! And your characterization moves me. You have these thoughts and takes on the characters that really jump out and grab me, make me rush off to write fic about it to see if it really works. Amazingly, it usually does!

I still haven't worked out hate!sex yet. Not sure if I ever will.

God do I love this! The introspection isn't too much and Sylar and Peter's reactions are golden. I am a little confused by the timeline, on whether these chapters are in order and play out one after the other or not.

For Bricks in the Wall, there's no timeline. Every chapter is a stand-alone. I had a bunch of things written for the Wall that didn't fit in any of my other stories, but since they were all set in the Wall, I put them together into a single 'master list'/collection so they'd all be in the same place. It's just random Wall-fic. This particular chapter is, of course, arranged with Sylar POV/Peter POV on the same scene. The 'every chapter is a stand-alone' is also why Seduction and Seducation were posted together as a single chapter. Same for Paint the Town Red and Second Base Coat.

This is the last one that I had pre-written, so from now on they'll probably be posted more gradually. I'd been writing these off and on over the last six months. Sometimes I'd email them to people I thought were having a bad day and might be cheered up by some as-yet-unpublished Petlar.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I really, really appreciate them!

Ok. That's what I suspected but I wasn't sure.

I love stories that tell the same story from two different points of view. I'd love to see more of your drabble/stories like this!

Also awww, Peter is so sweet all the time, and everytime you write him using "baby" as an endearment I just get so happy.

Yay! I think it was your fics that got me started exploring endearments for him. I didn't used to use them because it was never a part of my marriage, my dating (what little there was), or much used between my parents. So ... no role models for it.

I never really use them either, to be honest, except with my friends I guess, but I think they're super lovely in fics. I'm sure I've gotten a fetish for it after reading some fics in other fandoms, haha.

I had read this before. Not sure if you posted it or in email. But it doesn't matter, cause it's perfectly hot and awesome! I've read it several times over the last few days, skipping around, reading some of Peter's pov then back to Sylar's. Can't decide which one I like better. They both are hot and have good moments of sexiness, emotion, and humor.

I would dearly love to see the next time for these two. They're just a little different than some of your other Petlar, more relaxed, less angsty, maybe? This Sylar isn't quite so down on himself? I'm not sure what it is, but I like them and would love to see more of them. In the meantime, Im gonna read this just one more time, and then get back to RM.

The more I think about it, the more I think it's totally a character thing - something I hadn't seen so clearly. I guess I'm too buried in Peter! Because, for example, I could see Adam going with violent sex rather carelessly, if that seemed to be the order of the day. And Sylar, as I already said, would roll with it under a lot of circumstances. I could see darkish Future!Peter going with it, too, although it wouldn't be his real preference ( ... )

You're right, it does seem familiar. Huh. But again, this was great!
