A cashier at one of the stores we shop at each week is friendly with us. She often asks what we’re doing this weekend. I’m starting to feel like a dud. Curmudgeon and I haven’t done much of anything lately. A few days ago, I saw in the paper that a touring company of the musical Come from Away is performing the show here. It’s based on the true story of a small town on the east coast of Canada. On 9/11, planes coming into the U.S. from Europe were diverted there. There were so many travelers that people of the town actually took them into their homes for an extended period of time.
I asked Curmudgeon if he wanted to go. Not interested. Well, it may have to do with the fact that it’s related to 9/11. He lived in the New York area at the time, and it’s affected him more than me. I should give him a pass. I feel like we should be doing more outside the home than routine shopping, though.
