The End of Cable TV

May 13, 2024 22:08

I had my first physical therapy appointment today for my frozen shoulder. The therapist talked to me about my issues and examined me, then worked with me a bit and sent me home with stretches to do. I had to tell the boss I’ll be a little late twice a week for at least six weeks, maybe three to four months. She’d heard of frozen shoulder before, and she took it well. She’s so understanding that way.

Mom wanted her cable TV service canceled. Too blind and deef. I called the cable company today to do that. Curmudgeon and I boxed up all the equipment in the original packaging when we were there last. The equipment just needs to be taken to their nearest office within ten days. My friend Kirby Hall accepted the mission and will go tomorrow.

Curmudgeon brought it up when we were visiting Mom. “Do you ever watch TV anymore? Galtex can cancel the service for you.” Thaaaanks, Curmudgeon. I told her I wouldn’t be able to get to it right away. Too many things going on at work, etc. She said okay, but she has been riding my back like a monkey lately!

The cable equipment is on the TV stand in her living room. We pushed the TV back so the cardboard box is sitting in front of the TV. She knows exactly where it is. She probably stares at it every day and thinks about harassing me.

She’ll be fine without it. They have TV in the assisted living common rooms, not that she can see or hear it. Also, she listens to the radio in her apartment. VERY LOUDLY.

I SAID! VERY LOUDLY!!!!
