So someone's holding a spree for Lomo cameras. Free, direct shipping to Singapore being the lure. I currently lack the monetary means to finance this but online window shopping (hey! no pun intended!) is free. Surfed to lomography.com and died. Acting on
hotnesssuchness's advice, I had a look at the LC-A. Because I knew he purchase a set which had all the fancy shmancy add-ons...I was keen to find something similar. And I did. All for the abso-freakin' price of USD660. My eyes almost popped outta their sockets. Gee...after conversion (even with the favourable greenbag to SGD exchange), it still costs a whopping $1005.51. Wow. For real. Sigh. I think I'll work towards a DSLR for now. Seems to make more sense, y'know. I wonder if LC-As are cheap in Russia...hmmm......

So what have I been up to this week? Besides sending resume after resume? Cooking & baking! Cajun Chicken Pasta and Babi Pongteh (that is a Peranakan dish, in case you didn't know) were a resounding success! Especially the latter. That dish finally squeezed a "this is wonderful" from Dad, who normally just says it's okay. Of couse I got some help from the jolly Baba (fyi, in case you don't know again, that is the term for a male, Straits-born Chinese). But there were times when the phrase 'too many cooks spoil the broth' did come to mind. But he made it taste so much better with his advice. As I don't know how the dish would taste, he did most of the taste test. And Dad being dad, snucked more then just the gravy into his mouth. And to round off the meal, he even said it tasted like Grandma's. That made my day =)

My cream cheese brownies were a mini-disaster. The first batch was burnt and I mistook the gooey mess as fudgy brownies instead of uncooked batter. Hahaha! But the second batch turned out alright. They taste sensational. I mean...a marriage between a brownie and a cheesecake? How wrong can it get?

One last thought, am I weird or does printing a photo of birthday boy/girl or whoever on marzipan, atop a cake and cutting it up after for consumption is normal? I mean...I'm not superstituous or anything, but it's just kinda morbid. I wouldn't want to cut my face up and get you to eat it on my birthday. Eeeew.
