Of Burgers, Bubs and Birthdays
I finally satisfied my Botak Jones craving last night. My virgin experience at that. That Botak burger was MASSIVE. I don't know how some people can finish a triple Botak burger. Not as juicy as Carls Junior, but for the price, portions and friendly service, it's a thumbs up.
Quick review:
1) Stuffed Jalepenos - not as spicy as claimed. doesn't beat the spicyness of the chilli padi.
2) Caesar Salad - Baby romaine leaves were not used, resulting in chewy instead of crispy greens. The dressing was a tad too thick for the greens to be evenly coated.
3) Botak Burger set - added cheese, bacon and mushrooms. 2 slices of cheese is abit much for me, will skip the bacon as well. But mushrooms....yum! The coleslaw had the right amount of tangyness but I felt it had an overdose of mayo. The fries are....dismal. It wasn't crunchy, it wasn't soggy and they tasted blah despite being sprinkled with spices.
4) Cajun Chicken burger set - Looked good. Didn't get feedback from my friends, but they finished the burger. 'nuff said. Just so you know, the chicken is little charred, cause that's the characteristic of Cajun food, the chef didn't forget the chicken on the grill ;)
The dinner gathering was arranged for there was a very special announcement to make. Someone dear is preggers! It has been an amazing journey, to see the couple from courtship to marriage to expecting their first child. Can't wait to see that bub! But first, there's planning to do for a baby shower =)
As friends find their significant other, walk down the aisle and announce their first arrival, it becomes glaringly clear that the time has come. For my generation to make a big move in life, to commit and start a family. Even topics of conversation have taken a shift. I'm beginning to feel the divide between the singletons and marrieds. Career, meeting people vs. housework, folic acid. We all have to grow accustomed to this.
Reality bit, so I went surfing. And landed at www.lomographyasia.com. That, is a bad, bad, BAD place to go. A LCA is way out of my budget and I won't impose that on my dear friends. But I've set my eyes on the Smena 8M -hyperventilates- Can I get that for my birthday? Pretty please, with a cherry on top?
