Dog food in Hell.

In this Gustave Doré illustration of the third circle of Dante's Inferno, we see Dante's guide Virgil attempting to pacify the voracious and growling three-headed dog Cerberus. Cerberus guards the gluttons, who are condemned to spend their eternity atop swill while tormented and even chomped by the dog that symbolizes their lifelong gorging on food and drink. We call this "symbolic retribution."

Moral: lay off those piles of ribs and fries. Easy on the beer. Cut out chocolate cake. Repent! Or else you too will surely meet this doom.
