Feel good.
After months of waiting, the Nintendo Wii is finally here.
On Saturday, I camped out for 15 hours along with Pat, Danny, Andrew and Adam Trent, and some other fifty-odd Nintendo fans at the local Circuit City. I didn't get any sleep, but I did keep myself entertained with episodes of The Office and my trusty DS.
This was probably the nerdiest thing I've ever done. Even nerdier than painting small plastic miniatures. But was it worth it? Fuck yes.
At 8am, Circuit City handed out vouchers, which was good, because Pat and I had to go to a sexual harassment seminar downtown, for our work. The seminar itself wasn't that bad, but I really couldn't focus. I was very tired from the lack of sleep, and the fact that there wasn't a Wii in my hands right then really got to me.
The seminar ended at 11am. Pat and I went to Circuit City to pick up our Wiis. I got three games with it. After some additional errands, we went to my house to play a bit. Then he left and I played some more. Then my friend from across the street came over and we switched off playing. Then he left and I went to sleep until I woke up at 11pm. I played some more and then went to bed for real.
It sucks that I have to work the rest of the week. Then again, I've spent way too much money this month anyway, so I could use the dough.
