Intial Reaction to The Fires of Pompeii

Er.... wow...

Donna Noble is going to be a hard companion to give up. Catherine Tate took a marvlous turn as Donna in this episode that almost moved me to tears when she begged the Doctor to go back for someone, and also, finally someone to rival his gob. Actually, I think Donna is very much like Jackie Tyler - straight talking, but has an overwhealming senstive side.

I know Catherine has already said she is only doing one series which is a crying shame because after only two episodes of the new series she has won me over in a way that neither Rose nor Martha ever did (Rose won me over in time - I think I really started to like her in Father's Day - Martha won me over when she left and went to Torchwood (meow)). I'm not sure why, but Donna is just fabulous.

And speaking of Rose - nice prophecy - now can someone slap the Doctor silly please. She is returning - some much for being able to see everything that was, could be, might be - why the hell can't he see Rose??? Maybe he doesn't want to believe it. Also, noting 'There's something on your back' for Donna - if you've heard about the spoilers for Turn Left (epi 11) then I'm sure you are thinking what I am thinking.

Right, okay - so also Doctor with a water gun - soooo need a screen cap for that - I will make a bloody great icon for it!

The last thing I'm going to comment on is the line the Doctor says after Donna says about his planet burning, and he says he can't go back. They've not told us the name of the episode 12, but I think it will be something close to 'Return to Gallifrey', and it will explain why over the course of two episodes already we have dealt with planets going missing.
