Of TeniMyu and Guys in Leather Pants
Only two more days to get through this week then it's Thanksgiving break!
In more fandom related news, last weekend I made a discovery:
KATO KAZUKI
So, last weekend I finally watched some of the 2nd cast performances. I downloaded the Winter Hyotei performance a long time ago only because Mamo was in it, but I never actually watched the thing. As I've said before, I only got into TeniMyu because of the guys from BuriMyu, and while I quickly came to love all the guys it was more about the actors than the characters for me. After all, I can hardly judge how well so and so portrayed a character when I have never seen/read the original work. So my enjoyment of TeniMyu came mostly from watching the 1st generation guys perform.
Despite hearing people talk about how great some of the later musicals were, I never really had an interest to watch them since without the actors I was familiar with, the shows didn't have the same appeal. Yeah, I knew Shirota from SeraMyu, and Yanagi and Endo were still there, and like I mentioned above, Mamo tempted me to watch them, but the majority of the cast were guys I had never heard of. So, TeniMyu has always just been the first cast to me.
What Yanagi, Endo, and Shirota did do though was get me watching DD-Boys. Even though I ignored most of the other guys, it did help to become familiar with some of the other names I heard people talk about. Even if I never remembered who the names actually went with.
So, what finally led me to watch a second cast performance really has nothing to do TeniMyu, but is entirely the fault of Shirota's little thing for pigs. ...Yeah... I heard that during the Winter Hyotei curtain call he brought a huge stuffed pig out with him, and I wanted to see that. Then I realized that I actually downloaded that show so I put it on and made my way to the curtain call.
And got distracted by the end version of "Do Your Best." The song was kinda catchy and I liked the choreography. This led me to skim through the the show some more and I came across the "Katsun wa Hyotei" song. While looking for Mamo videos I had stumbled across the backstage where he and KENN were doing impressions, so I knew that song! Then I came across "Koori no Emperor" and at that point gave up the idea that I would do any homework that day. >_<
Kazuki drew me in the same way Kimeru had and I really wanted to see more of him. I remembered that one of the Dream Lives featured Hyotei, so I started downloading that. Kazuki in leather is a very nice thing, and who ever came up with the costume designs is a genius. (Were these costumes based off of anything like the DL1 costumes, or completely original?) Anways, DL3 was great, the graduation speeches were very touching even if I wasn't that familiar with everyone. Of course, Kime, Nagayan, and Endo's guest appearance was nice too! (This also gave me an idea of where Shirota/Yanagi comes from since that had always stumped me.)
So then it was back to the backstages, and this time I was more familiar with who everyone was. The Winter Hyotei backstage had some interesting parts to say the least. One scene that I remembered was this, and when I realized that was Kazuki there with Shirota O_O. Then later when Kazuki and Shirota are leaning close to each other and Shirota starts making kisses at Kazuki *_*. Why is there not more fic with these two?!
But this has gotten way too long, so my conclusion: Kazuki is hot, Kazuki/Shirota is also hot and 2nd cast isn't too bad.
On a completely unrelated note, whenever I watch SeraMyu I get the urge to cosplay one of the Starlights. Like I really want to...
