Undressing Your Seeker/Confessor
I've been working on making my own version of Kahlan's confessor dress so I've been studying different pictures to figure out just how everything on that dress would work. I thought others might find some of this useful, whether it's for their own costume or as a reference for fic ^_~.

Part 1 - Undressing your Confessor
Kahlan's confessor outfit is composed of four items:
1. White dress
2. Brown corset type top
3. Brown skirt
4. Black pants
1. White dress
Kahlan's dress laces both in the front and in the back. The front lacing can be seen in the first reference photo. Here is what the back lacing looks like:
Now based upon episode 1x13 I would say that it's debateable which lacing is functional as far as getting the dress off, so I'll offer both versions. My original thought was that the back lacing would be undone and that the front lacing is more decorative. I based this off of the following:
At the top there is clearly no way for the lacing to be undone as the lacing was strung top to bottom. At the bottom however, instead of the lacing being tied off, it looks like it is actually sewn down to the dress. Yet in 1x13 Kahlan is able to untie the top.
Looking at a picture from right before she starts unlacing her dress it still looks as if it is laced top to bottom, so what's really going on up there is a mystery to me at this point. Especially since she doesn't appear to untie anything. It's like the ends were just kinda tucked into something. Ultimately I think this is gonna have to be your call. Even though all other pictures I make it look impossible for the dress to lace that way she unlaces it from the top.
Of course being able to undo the front lacing definitely lends to *ahem* funner times in scenes such as the one in 1x13. But if the front lacing is funtional why the need for the back lacing?
If you want to go with undoing the back lacing, I have just one final note on it. I would assume that the lacing would continue up to the point where the hood connects with the dress and ties off there. When undone this would create a "hole" in the back (since the hood prevents the dress from being able to completely separate at the top) or would allow any extra fabric gathered there to expand enough to get over hips/shoulders.
2. Brown corset type top
I'm not really sure what to call this. >_< The greenish portion has the structure of a corset, yet the bust portion is more like a bra. Anyways, as you can see in the second picture, this too laces in the back. Bridget obviously has someone that helps her get into/out of this costume, but how Kahlan is supposed to manage on her own I have no idea! XD Or maybe she doesn't do it on her own. >_>
3. Brown skirt
The skirt is separate from the top since you can tell it's always the same top yet Kahlan sometimes goes without the skirt. She also wears the top part underneath her green outfit (you can see the silver markings at the top), and with that she never wears the skirt.
The skirt if full enough for freedom of movement, but not near as full as the white dress. I would assume that this would also have a few laces in the back.
4. Black pants
I assumed she typically wore these under the skirt based on 1x01 when she is putting her daggers back on her boots after meeting Richard. She lifts her skirt past he knees and there is no skin showing. She definitely wears the pants underneath the white dress without the skirt though.
However, again in 1x13 there is a clear shot of her legs without the pants.
There could be a reason for this though. I would imagine she was left with a nice hole in those pants after being shot with the crossbow arrow in 1x11. (It might be worth noting that she wears the same pants with her green outfit. )
Though with the skirt the she doesn't really need to wear the pants, so she could take them on and off as she wants. Or maybe for 1x13 the director simply wanted to help Richard and Kahlan along so they had Kahlan leave the pants off this time. ^_~
5. Other items
Kahlan also wears a pair of black boots that come to just under her knees. In these (I would assume in a holster) she keeps her two daggers.
To Conclude
So to summarize undressing your Confessor: Unlace the white dress (use of front or back lacing is your choice), slip her out of that, unlace and remove the corset, and remove skirt and/or pants. Boots and daggers should also be removed for optimal pleasure. ^_~
