The bailout bill passed the House today, after failing on Monday. Since it already passed the Senate, it will probably be signed into law this evening or weekend. I've been very busy for a while now. This year, I had to get funding 5 separate times. This has taken up something like 1/4 of my time. It is also something that I consider very unpleasant and a distraction from all the things I actually want to do. So I am applying for real jobs now and will be only a part-time student. Wedding
The wedding weekend went wonderfully. Pretty much everything went exactly the way we wanted it to (even the weather). Thank you to everyone that celebrated with us. Concon in June
The concon is scheduled for June 14. That means it will be in the news the weekend that Mira and I are getting married (regardless of the outcome). Which means it is likely that my mom will make some bigoted comments about homosexuality at some point during the weekend. Why do the homophobes want to ruin my wedding? The metro today has an article about a fire near the blue line. Part of it is:
The fire burned quickly because the area was covered in tall marsh grass, Menard said. "That stuff goes up like wildfire."
It does indeed go up like wildfire. Especially when it actually is a wildfire. -
