On Saturday (after getting a fair amount of reading done), I went to a games party at the house of a guy named Kevin who lives in SE Portland. Eireen (formally known as Bonnianne) was there and it was nice to see her. I knew her for many years in the Bay Area--in fact, I met her at Berkeley Games Club--but she moved up to Oregon a few years ago. [EDIT (7/16/05): Reading this months later, I realize that I have mentioned Eireen in about four posts, and in every one I mention her former name and how I know her. I'm vowing now never to do that again.]
There were more people there than I've ever seen at one of Kevin's parties (he usually hosts them every 3-4 weeks, though the last one was in November).
Back in January, I bought a new digital camera. I had brought my previous one with me to Baltimore, but it broke while in my suitcase. I've had it in the box for several weeks and finally got around to opening it up this weekend. I want to try to take pictures of some of my classmates to post here so you can see what they look like. I brought my camera with me to campus this morning, but didn't get a good opportunity to point it in anyone's face. I have class again tonight, so I'll bring it with me then.
I'm home now. I have a between-class break from 3:00 to 7:30, so it's often more convenient to come home, but since I carpool, whether we go home depends on the mood of the driver. Today, Whitney drove but wanted to go home to do laundry. I could have stayed or not, so I decided to go home. The only problem is that there are more distractions at home (i.e., TV--I can do LJ either at home or on campus). I have a paper to write for tomorrow and I keep putting it off. I better get it started soon though because after class tonight, I won't have much time to get anything done.
You might think that, after having worked as a writer (albeit technical), I would find writing easy, and I do, once I get started. But I find getting started to be very difficult. Plus, this paper is supposed to be persuasive, not objective, and I'm more experienced at objective, dispassionate writing.
[Edit: I've mostly written my paper (it was partially written already because we had to turn in a draft last week, but I fleshed it out). I'm afraid it's not quite persuasive enough yet. We're supposed to go "over the top" and what I've written so far is only mildly persuasive. But I'm going to stop for now and add color to it later tonight and/or early tomorrow. It's not that big a deal anyway since it's not graded, and the really big project--an appellate brief--starts tomorrow.]
