The internets!

I finally have internet at my house! The world has opened up to me again!

We now have fiber-optic, and with it we order fiber optic television as well. I now have access to American TV shows like Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, and The Sarah Conner Chronicles. I saw an episode of the Terminator series, and I have to say I wasn't intrigued. the Battlestar Galactica I saw was a two part mini-movie or something called Razor, and it was alright. The only thing that turns me off that show is it seems to ALWAYS be dark, without any sort of levity anywhere. Even when the characters make jokes they tend to me more ironic and grim than anything else. However, I may try to give the series a chance at some point. I doubt it will beat Firefly though.

The job has finally calmed down a bit, enough that I took Friday afternoon off (I worked the previous Sunday so they kind of wanted me to), and even after stopping to shop and wonder a bit on the way home, till made it back in time to fix the shoe box in the entryway before my work day would have finished.

Ah, the shoebox. Japanese homes have boxes, or more shelves I should say, to put shoes in (because you take them off, which means all of your shoes are in the entryway). Ours is built directly into the house, and apparently the bottom of our shoebox was made of very, very this particle board. Boots, our heaviest cat, climbed in there and the bottom gave out on him. He fell through, and apparently there was no floor under this so he hit dirt.
It was less than a foot down, but it gave him access to underneath the house, and he found a way outside. Sakura, our youngest and smallest, also went under the house, but luckily she was lured out with a toy. Boots Amica found outside someone else's house.

Ok, the order of this post is hectic, but it's been awhile. Last weekend I went and saw the giant gundam in Odaiba. If you don't know what a Gundam is, it's a big robot with a pilot in it from an animated series.
Only the head moved, which was somewhat disappointing, but it still looked awesome. It actually looked like it could move. Unfortunately, the fact that only the head moved sort of ruined the illusion of a giant robot just sitting dormant, and just served to accentuate the fact that the rest of it wasn't moving. Also, the head moved for less than a minute about once every 30 minutes. This was also the only time they turned on the little lights all over it, and I found that very unfortunate, especially after the sun went down.
Aparently they've dismantled it already, and I'm curious what they're going to do with all of the parts. It seems like a total waste to just throw it away or recycle it, and I hope the just relocate it somewhere else (preferably indoors so that a typhoon doesn't wreck it).

I think I'm gonna end here for now.
