good start to the equinox

my life continues to be a delight to me.

i had a wonderfully hard practice last night, and got to push my body more than i have in a while. i feel like i am starting to move again and to keep my feet under me a little. the mild stiffness in my legs this morning makes me very happy, as did my ability to make some real touches last night. i think that i will be ok.

after practice we went out to this little bar on 79th st. i totally didn't know what to make of the place. it looked a little traditional and classy when we walked in, but the clientel was a mix of older folks in suits, and younger kinda scruffy looking types. me, JLP and RA got there first, and had some drinks and a little food while we waited for randy to show up- we were there to see his friend sing/play. the bartender was this awsome woman w/ a great accent who poured stiff drinks and had to deal w/ some unruly characters. one of them ended up deciding that he needed to hug and/or kiss both randy and i. that was an interesting scene which ed managed to catch on video. i can't wait to see the footage of _that_. we fended him off and got him out the door and went back to enjoying the show.... although randy got another admirer in the form of some african guy who kept talking to him. i think randy coulda had any guy in the place ;-). then there was the 40 year old guy who was amused by the old white guy in a suit dancing w/ the african guy, and decided to strike up a conversation w/ me, and even offered to buy my table a round of drinks. it was very nice.

so, we got outta there, had an uneventful subway ride back to astoria, followed by an amusing walk home, and then collapsed into bed. all in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening :-)

and i think i take back what i said before about the smell thing.
