Near the Earth, to Touch by sheafrotherdon

Okay, so I have to admit that I wasn't the biggest fan of the Farm In Iowa stories in general. I'm a city girl at heart, and the whole idea of moving to Iowa still reads a lot more like the biggest nightmare ever than a romance to me. Thanks! It's good to know that people are listening to my recs. I do tend to like fic that's more literary, or really has something 'pop' about it, and I guess those fics for me tend to be the darker ones.

As for my own fic - yeah, a lot of it is on the darker side.

If you liked 'Almost Famous' I'd recommend:

'When Pigs . . .'
'Letting Go'
'From the Depths'
and
'A Day in the Life of'

All located at my website: http://gaia.fictionresource.com

They all have a similar more comic tone, though there are some of my fics that I think are better, but are a lot darker and more realistic feeling.

And if you're willing to go really really dark and philosophical, I'd recommend 'Nobody Remembers Nanjing, but I Remember the Sunrise.' It's my favorite fic of mine, but I get few comments on it, because the things its about aren't pretty (gender, war, rape, hegemony . . . very not pretty), but if you're looking for a challenge, it's probably a good one.

Anyhow, thanks so much for taking the time to comment. More recs on their way!
