Well...this morning, at 630AM, while still at work, I receive a call from my agency, DirectFit. It was Rich, the recruiter who got me the interview there at Marsh 9 months ago. I knew what was coming next...and I was prepared for it:
"Paul...it's Rich from Directfit..."
"Heya Rich. How are things?"
"Not so good...Can you come by the office this morning when your shift's done?"
"Should I pack up all my sutff and take it with me?"
"Yeah...it might be a good idea. I'm sorry, Paul...*click*"
Well...the other shoe finally dropped. it was my turn to be handed the revolver that was my boss' hiring/firing practices, and today...I lost. I cleaned all my pertinent files off my desk, packed all my stuff into a plastic bag and my backpack sent a thank you note to my team in the most professional manner that I could possibly do...logged off my machine and left.
When I got to their office, rich was waiting, and he was on the verge of tears. all he kept telling me was that how sorry he was...Me? I'm not worried. I know that the next job I get will not be as a help desk person, that I can only go up and beyone from here as high as I can think and believe I can. And I told him that. "Now I can get some sleep and study with a clear head for my certs and I don't have to deal with all of my boss' political machinations and BS that goes on there anymore...AND I can get back on a regular sleep schedule...what are you worried about?"
some people can be such girls when it comes to things like this...no offense, Ladies...
Well...I think I'm gonna climb in bed for a three hours or so...have to be awake at 1PM so I can call a friend of mine and be able to get my son Kevin off his bus this afternoon.
Later all...and don't worry. I'll be working again faster than you can say "Slick Willie".
