Sometimes...even a blind squirrel finds a walnut.

You know...there are those days where the credo, "Sometimes You're the Windshield, sometimes you're the bug" comes into full effect.

Today was my day to be the Windshield.

*smiles*

So, what's got Paul all smiles and grins and giggles today? Well...I was supposed to have my Mock interview with the toughest Cisco instructor at my school. I get to school on time, and was informed that he's running late. OK...no problem. So I have the opportunity to speak with the women in the placement office (both of whom are really cute ;) ) and while I'm waiting, my placement counselor (the Cuter of the two...aren't I lucky ;D), realizes that Because I'm already working in the IT Field, I'm exempted from the interview and Resume workshop I'd have to take if I were unemployed.

So, now armed with special dispensation from the Dean of Students and Placement...I'm ready to leave the building, and something tells me to stop in the Student services office. It was just a feeling...but I went with it. I must remember to always follow my gut feelings from now on. I ran into the Director of Placement for the entire school in the hallway, and she and I ended up talking for an hour, giving me an informal interview in the process. She asked me for my resume, which I had handy, and after taking a look at it, and talking to me for the next half hour, she is sparing no expense to help me land a Cisco Troubleshooting gig somewhere. She placed me at the top of her personal "A" list, and I told her the regions I was looking to Migrate to (Dallas/Austin, SF Bay Area, Piedmont Triad Area in NC (Raliegh-Durham/Greensboro/Winston-Salem), Tampa/St.Petersburg, Florida) and she said that she'll be e-mailing my Resume to her contacts in those areas tomorrow.

When I left the school I was shocked that my feet were still in contact with the ground...I was feeling so high, so elated...it was awesome :)

Yes, I felt like the Windshield today...the windshield of Jeff Gordon's Dupont-Sponsored #24 NASCAR Chevrolet Monte Carlo...the bugs got no mercy from me today. So soon I'll be able to climb out of the Hell I currently work in at Marsh & McClennan, and move on to bigger and better things, and finally get paid what I'm worth...

Laters all...
