I have two conferences coming up: my big
one that I attend every year, this year in
our beloved Pittsburgh, and a smaller, one
day con focused on fandom, which is this
Saturday.
For the small one I'm doing just a short history
of fan fiction. This is a conference pointed at
fans of comic books and movies and not for
academics, so I'm keeping it very basic.
For the big conference I'll be talking about
fan fiction turned into "legit" (?) fiction.
Yes, I'll be covering "Fifty Shades of Grey"
and "After," but also other not so obvious
novels that began as fan fiction and what it
takes to make this transformation. Should be
interesting!
That and teaching is what's going on.
