Another slow night...

Wow what a slow night. Since my FTO and I are the only two man unit we were sent to get some cars that were worked on. 2 1/2 hours of wasted time was spent getting them because morning watch tried to use them and they didn't work (even though they worked for us at the place). Well we pulled over 1 suspended tag but had to let her go with a verbal warning to go out on a domestic. Well 74 year old granny called the police because her adult daughter was yelling at her 8 year old son who wouldn't come inside when she called for him. Poor kid was scared to death when we showed up and thought he was in big trouble. I calmed him down and hopefully he won't grow up to hate the police like so many other kids. We pulled over a thugged out car with a gangsta looking driver with no tag. He just bought the car...just our luck...he was on probation for something, but nothing happened with that. We wrote a handicap ticket then went to backup an off duty Lieutenant who was walking his dog and got into a fight with a drunk 15 year old kid who tore up a political sign. We got there late and was nominated to transport a 70+ year old man to Crimes Against Children as a suspect and a guy who got into a fight with his wife and took the phone away from her while she was on 911 (interference with a 911 call). The 70 year old pervert was an alright guy, kinda embarassed but somewhat relieved looking that he was caught. Though when we got to the CAC office he started sweating like crazy. The other guy was really nice, kinda felt bad for him because from what I heard his wife was psycho. Well we ended up getting back at 0030, though I really don't mind the over-time. Last paycheck I had 101.25 hours on it...but Uncle Sam took about $400 which kinda sucked.
