Summary: Chacha and Ju-ken are going to chop down a Christmas tree
Guard Dog
”Hey, guys! Wake up. We’re gonna go pee on a tree!” Eneru yipped happily as he turned round and round in circles.
Yu yawned and licked his paw. “We’re gonna what?” He stood up and stretched, arching his back, then turned around and settled back into the cushy blanket on the bed.
Kamui opened one bleary eye and stared at the whirling dervish. ”That dog’s too happy. And he makes no sense.” he grumbled.
”Aw, come on, guys, Dad and Chacha said they’re gonna go chop down a tree for Christmas. And we can help them pee on it!”
”I hope he’s got that wrong,” Yu muttered and promptly went back to sleep.
Eneru raced back out to the kitchen to make sure Chacha and Ju-ken hadn’t left without him, and then bounced back to the bedroom. He caught a corner of the blanket that was dragging on the floor in his teeth and started backing up, trying to drag the blanket and the two cats down off the bed.
Ju-ken came in to get his gloves and ruffled Eneru’s ears. “Doesn’t look like those two are going to be much help. Guess we’ll have to go without them. Come on, Ene, let’s go.”
Eneru trotted excitedly behind Ju-ken out to the back porch and stopped. He’d forgotten about all that cold, wet white stuff. He sat down and whimpered.
“What’s the matter, Eneru?” Chacha asked. “Aw, don’t worry. Your dad and I will find a tree. You just go back inside and guard the house for us, ok?”
Eneru wagged his tail, happy to be given such an important job, and even happier to be able to do it from inside where it was warm and dry.
